Committees

NCHCA Committees

Committees members volunteer their time to advance issues relevant to the heavy construction industry. Committees are approved by and report to the NCHCA Board.

Bursary Committee    

Mandate: To encourage recruitment to the heavy construction industry by providing education bursaries to NCHCA member employees and their children. For more information, please visit the Bursary page of our website.

Construction Act Working Group

Mandate: To provide industry’s feedback, perspective, and position to the City of Ottawa regarding an effective prompt payment process that complies with the requirements of the Construction Act.

Education Committee

Mandate: To organize the annual Education Series in collaboration with the City of Ottawa and the Association of Consulting Engineering Companies of Ontario.

Excess Soil Management Committee

Mandate: To serve as a resource to our members with regards to excess soil legislation.

Health & Safety Committee

Mandate: To be an active resource to members with regards to health and safety issues, to promote safe working environments and industry safety-related initiatives and distribute relevant information. For more information, please visit the Health & Safety page of our website.

Membership & Sponsorship

Mandate: To identify potential new members, encourage membership renewal and solicit sponsorship for NCHCA events.

Operational Constraints Committee  

Mandate: To provide industry’s feedback, perspective, and position to the City of Ottawa regarding operational constraints such as peak hour restrictions, permitting, traffic control, scheduling, safety, etc.

Recruitment Committee

Mandate: To serve as a resource to our members and promote recruitment to our industry.

Specifications Committees: Asphalt, Concrete, General, and Sewer & Watermain

Mandate: To contribute to the improvement of City of Ottawa specifications by providing industry’s feedback, perspective, and position.

Theft Prevention Committee

VPM Committee
